#18 Tartans Tie #19 Brandeis, 1-1, on the Road

(WALTHAM, Mass.) - The 18th-ranked Carnegie Mellon University women's soccer team played it's fifth straight nationally-ranked opponent in 19th-ranked Brandeis University on Sunday, October 26. The game between the University Athletic Association (UAA) opponents ended in a 1-1 tie moving the Tartans' record to 9-4-3 overall and 0-3-2 in the UAA while Brandeis moves to 7-4-4 and 0-4-1.

Inside the Box Score

  • Brandeis struck early against junior keeper Maddie Kellogg in the last seconds of the fifth minute on an unassisted goal by Peterly Leroy.
  • Ten minutes later, junior Audrey Bianco put in the equalizer off a saved shot by junior Saveria Ulizzi. It was the eighth goal of the season for Bianco and first in UAA play.
  • Both keepers ended the first half with five saves with two coming by Kellogg in the final five minutes of the frame.
  • Bianco had a chance turned away in the 58th minute which proved to be the last shot on frame for the Tartans.
  • Kellogg kept the scored knotted at 1-1 with a save in the 85th minute and the 86th minute.
