WGCA Honors Players; Four Tartans Named All-America

(PALM DESERT, Calif.) – For the third consecutive season, four members of the Carnegie Mellon University women's golf team earned All-America honors from the Women's Golf Coaches Association (WGCA) with two others earning regional recognition. This also marks the seventh straight year that multiple members have been honored.

Junior Samantha Wang, sophomore Emma Wong and freshmen Alyssa Lim were named to the All-American first team while sophomore Cecilia Jia joined the trio on the second team. Junior Nikita Jadhav and freshman Jacqueline Zang joined their teammates as regional honorees. Head coach Dan Rodgers was named the Division III Golf Pride Great Lakes Region Coach of the Year. It was the seventh straight honor for Rodgers. Lim was also named to the WGCA All-Freshman Team.

The six Tartans, along with the direction of Rodgers and assistant coach Ty Jones, helped the third-ranked Tartans to their sixth straight and seventh appearance in program history to the 2026 NCAA Division III Women's Golf Championships. The team has won two events this season, as well as set school records for the lowest team round, including posting the top five lowest rounds in program history, and the lowest two-round score, along with the three lowest in program history.

Heading into play at the NCAAs, Wong leads the Tartans with a scoring average of 73.0 through 15 rounds. She claimed two individual medalist honors this season, the first at the NCAA Preview and the second at the Savannah Invitational. Wong broke the school record for the lowest round in program history when she shot a six-under par 66 at the Tartans Invitational in the fall. The sophomore also broke the school record for the lowest two-round score when she posted a seven-under par 139 at the Savannah Invitational.

Lim competed in 15 rounds for the Tartans this season and finished the regular season second on the team in scoring average with 73.3. She recorded a season-low round of four-under par at the Savannah Invitational, which is the fourth lowest round in program history.

Wang has the third lowest scoring average at 73.8 as she has competed in 18 rounds. The junior posted a season-low round of three-under par at the Savannah Invitational and ended the 36-hole event with a six-under par 140 and is tied for the second lowest two-round score in program history.

Jia also carded a six-under par at the Savannah Invitational and is tied with Wang in the second spot in the school's record books. Jia competed in 18 rounds this season with an average of 74.6. She leads the team with three top three finishes and is tied with Wang with five top 10 finishes.

Jadhav has a scoring average of 75.8 through 18 rounds for the Tartans. Her season-low round of three-under par came at the Savannah Invitational, which also tied her collegiate low round.

Zang has a scoring average of 75.6 through 16 rounds. She recorded her season-low round of three-under par at the Tartan Invitational.
