Tartans Place Second at Centre College Classic

(PINEHURST, N.C.) – The Carnegie Mellon University women's golf team opened its spring schedule at the Centre College Classic, finishing second out of 12 teams. The Tartans posted a 36-hole team score of 605 (302-303) over two days of competition at Pinehurst Resort & CC par-71, 5,594-yard course.

How it Happened

• Freshman Alyssa Lim and junior Samantha Wang led the Tartans over the 36-hole event with a seven-over par 149. Lim carded rounds of 75 and 74 while Wang carded rounds of 71 and 78. They tied for fourth individually in a field of 66 golfers.
• Sophomore Cecilia Jia fired rounds of 76 and 75 for a 151 and finished seventh.
• Junior Nikita Jadhav opened play on Saturday with an 80 and entered the clubhouse Sunday with a 76 for a 156.
• Freshman Jacqueline Zang ended play with a 163 (81-82)
• The Tartans had one individual that competed; sophomore Emma Wong carded a 154 (72-82)
