Tartans Place Third at Tartan Invitational, Wong Breaks Single Round School Record
(FARMINGTON, Pa.) – The Carnegie Mellon women's golf team hosted the Tartan Invitational at the Nemacolin Resort on Monday, October 6 and Tuesday, October 7. The Tartans finished third in a field of 15 teams with a 36-hole score of five-under par 571 (283-288). The two-day event was played at the Nemacolin Resort on Mystic Rock in Farmington, Pennsylvania, which is a par 72, 5,663 -yard course.

How it Happened
- Sophomore Emma Wong was the Tartans' top finisher, tying for fourth in a field of 84 players. In round one, Wong carded a six-under par 66, breaking the school record for the lowest round in program history. In round two, Wong scored a one-over par 73, for a five-under par 139 total score.
- Junior Samantha Wang carded a three-under par 141 (70-71), tying for ninth overall.
- Junior Nikita Jadhav hit even par 144 (70-74) and tied for 16th place.
- Freshman Alyssa Lim's three-over par 147 (77-70) earned her a tie for 19th place.
- Sophomore Cecilia Jia ended the event with a 166 (86-80).
- The Tartans had four individuals compete; freshman Jacqueline Zang shot a one-under par 143 (69-74), sophomore Caroline Fixter shot 162 (81-81), senior Wenna Zhang ended with a 164 (82-82) while freshman Claudia Zhang competed only in the second round and carded a two-over par 74.
