Five Tartans Named All-UAA

(ROCHESTER, N.Y.) – The Carnegie Mellon University women's golf team had five athletes honored by the University Athletic Association's (UAA) coaches on the All-UAA team when the awards were announced. Headlining the squad for the Tartans is graduate student Alexis Sudjianto and freshmen Cecilia Jia on the first team. Senior Sriya Mupparaju, sophomore Samantha Wang and freshman Emma Wong were named to the second team.

The five Tartans competed in the fifth straight NCAA Division III Women's Golf Championships and sixth appearance in program history last week where they were national runner-up.

Sudjianto had a scoring average of 73.8 in 20 rounds. She claimed her third collegiate individual medalist honor this season at the Deb Jackson Invitational. Sudjianto carded a season-low round of three-under par on two different occasions this season, the first at the Jekyll Island Collegiate and the second at the Deb Jackson. In all, she has four top-three performances this season and 12 for her career, tying her for second most for a career in program history. Her three career individual medalist honors also rank tied for second in program history.

Jia competed in all 20 rounds for the Tartans this season and finished with a scoring average with a 73.8. The freshman placed second individually at the NCAA Championship where she broke the school record for the best four-round score with a one-under par 287. She recorded a season-low round of three-under par Jekyll Island Collegiate. She claimed her first collegiate individual medalist at the South Georgia Invitational. Jia also set the school record for the lowest individual 54-hole total in the program's history at the Golfweek Classic carding even par.

Mupparaju competed in 20 rounds and had a scoring average of 74.6. She posted a season-low round of four-under par at the Golfweek Classic, which is tied for the third lowest round in program history.

Wang played in 15 rounds and had a scoring average of 75.1. Her season-low round of three-under par came at the Max and Susan Stith Invitational, as she claimed her third career individual medalists honor.

Wong had a scoring average of 75.1 in 16 rounds played. She claimed individual medalist at the Allegheny Guy & Jeanne Kuhn Invitational. Wong recorded a season-low round of one-under par at the Golfweek Classic.
