Tartans Climb Leaderboard, Sit Second Entering Final Round of the Division III NCAA Women’s Golf Championship
(WILLIAMSBURG, Va.) – The Carnegie Mellon University women's golf team posted a historic performance in the third round of the 2025 NCAA Division III Championship at Kingsmill Resort in Williamsburg, Virginia, on Thursday. The Tartans fired a program-record five-under-par 283 to bring their 54-hole total to 888 (302–303–283), placing them second overall heading into Friday's final round.

How it Happened:
- All five Tartans either tied or surpassed their best round of the championship on Thursday.
- Graduate student Alexis Sudjianto entered the clubhouse on Thursday with a three-under par 69 and has a 54-hole score of 225 (77-79-69).
- Sophomore Samantha Wang fired a two-under par 70 and will enter play on Friday with a 221 (73-78-70).
- Freshman Cecilia Jia matched her low round for the event with a one-under par 71 and is currently tied for fourth on the individual leaderboard in a field of 176 golfers with a one-over par 217 (75-71-71).
- Freshman Emma Wong carded a round of one-over par 73 and has a 229 (77-79-73).
- Senior Sriya Mupparaju will enter play on Friday with a 226 (77-75-74) after shooting a two-over par 74 in round three.
Notes:
- The Tartans' third-round score of five-under par 283 is not only the lowest round of this championship but also a new school record.
- The previous program-best was a three-under-par round, achieved three times — including twice earlier this season.
