Play Suspended in Opening Round of the Division III NCAA Women’s Golf Championship; Tartans Completed 17-18 Holes
(WILLIAMSBURG, Va.) - The Carnegie Mellon University women's golf team began play in the first round of the 2025 NCAA Division III Championship on Tuesday at Kingsmill Resort in Williamsburg, Virginia. After a nearly five-hour weather delay, the Tartans managed to complete 17 through 18 holes before play was suspended due to darkness. The Tartans played their opening round on the River Course and will play the second round on the Plantation Course.

How it Happened:
- Sophomore Samantha Wang finished all 18 holes on Tuesday and entered the clubhouse with a one-over par 73.
- Graduate student Alexis Sudjianto and senior Sriya Mupparaju also finished all 18 holes, as both carded a 77.
- Freshman Cecilia Jia played 17 holes and currently is three-over par for the round.
- Freshman Emma Wong is four-over par through 17 holes.
Up Next:
- Round one will resume at 8:00 a.m. on Wednesday, immediately followed by the start of second-round play. After round two is completed, the field will be cut to the top 15 teams and the top six individuals not on those teams.
