Wang Named UAA Women’s Golf Athlete of the Week

(ROCHESTER, N.Y.) – Sophomore Samantha Wang of the Carnegie Mellon University men's golf team was named University Athletic Association (UAA) Women's Golf Athlete of the Week following her performance in leading the Tartans to repeating as Max and Susan Stith Invitational champions which was played at The Dominion Club in Glen Allen, Virginia.

Wang tied for the individual medalist in a field of 75 golfers after carding a 36-hole score of four-over par 148. In the opening round, the sophomore carded a three-under par 69 after she played the back nine at five-under and recorded an eagle on hole 14.

The Tartans will next hit the links on April 13-14 at the 54-hole Deb Jackson Invitational hosted by Emory University. The two-day event will be played at the West Pine Golf Club in Douglasville, Georgia.
