(DESTIN, Fla.) – The Carnegie Mellon University women's golf team finished play at the Golfweek October Classic on Tuesday and fired a three-under par 285 in round three. The Tartans took second place with a six-over par 870 total (294-291-285).

How It Happened:

  • Freshman Cecilia Jia led for the Tartans with a round one-under par 71 on Tuesday, ending with a score of even par 216 (75-70-71) for the 54-hole event. She finished third individually out of 124 players.
  • Freshman Emma Wong ended in a tie for fourth individually after she fired a one-over par 73 in round three for a total of 217 (71-73-73).
  • Graduate student Alexis Sudjianto and senior Sriya Mupparaju tied for eleventh, both hitting 221. Mupparaju carded her best round of the classic Wednesday, as she entered the clubhouse with a four-under par 68, tying her collegiate-best round.
  • Sophomore Nikita Jadhav ended play with 227 (76-73-78).

  • Wong's score of 217 (+1) is tied for the second lowest individual 54-hole total in the program's history.
