Tartans Tied for Third After First Round of 2024 Golfweek October Classic

(DESTIN, Fla.) – The Carnegie Mellon University women's golf team started play at the Golfweek October Classic on Sunday and carded a 294. The Tartans are currently tied for third in a field of 24 teams. The three-day event is hosted at the Sandestin Golf and Beach Resort in Destin Florida, which is a par 72 and 5611 yards.

How It Happened:

Freshman Emma Wong led the Tartans at the classic with a one-under par 71 and is tied for fourth individually in a field of 124 golfers.
Graduate student Alexis Sudjianto fired a one-over par 73.
Freshman Cecilia Jia and senior Sriya Mupparaju carded a 75.
Sophomore Nikita Jadhav finished the first round with a 76.
