Diamond Named UAA Softball Player of the Week

(PITTSBURGH, Pa.) - Carnegie Mellon University sophomore Reagan Diamond has been honored as the University Athletic Association (UAA) Player of the Week for her performance last week for the Tartans over an eight-game stretch in Florida. The award is the second this year for the Tartans and first for Diamond.

The sophomore catcher hit .591 with a slugging percentage of .727 during the week to help the Tartans reach the best start in program history at 9-1 for the season. Diamond collected 13 hits, 10 RBIs and scored nine runs. She had three doubles, walked twice and was hit by a pitch once. One of her runs scored was the game-winner in the seventh inning against Hope, as she started the inning with a single. Diamond hit safely in all seven games played for the week and currently has a 10-game hitting streak dating back to the last game of 2025. She had four mutli-hit games for the week with a 4-for-5 performance in the 15-12 win against RPI.

The Tartans return to the field on Saturday, March 14 against Manhattanville University in Salisbury, Maryland at 1:30 p.m.
