Monji Named UAA Hitter of the Week

(PITTSBURGH, Pa.) - Carnegie Mellon University senior Kira Monji was honored by the University Athletic Association (UAA) as the UAA Softball Hitter of the Week for her opening day performance to the 2025-2026 season.

Monji led the Tartans with six hits, including two doubles, four RBIs, and two runs scored in a 1-1 opening day for the team. Monji started the season with three hits and four RBIs in a 5-3 win against Allegheny College and continued her hot hitting with three more hits in a 13-6 loss to St. John Fisher University. Her four RBIs against Allegheny was a career-best in a single game, as she added a stolen base in the game.
