Bio

Tess Jones will begin her first season with the men and women’s cross country teams in 2014. She ran cross country at Saint Vincent College in Latrobe, Pennsylvania, under the direction of Coach Tom Harbert. As a Lady Bearcat, Tess was a top runner; she was named to the Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) Academic Honor Roll and in 2005, won the Saint Vincent Invitational with a time of 19:49.

After she graduated with a bachelor’s degree in theology, she taught at Bishop McCort High School in Johnstown and in 2007 became the head coach of the women’s cross country team at Pitt-Johnstown.  She then went on to become a graduate assistant at Saint Vincent for cross country and lacrosse while completing her master’s degree in curriculum and instruction.

Tess is an avid marathoner, qualifying for Boston in 2009.  She was born and raised in Ligonier, Pennsylvania, and now resides in downtown Pittsburgh.
