Tartans Run to 15th Place at NCAA Championships

(SPARTANBURG, S.C.) – The Carnegie Mellon University men's cross country team competed at the 2025 NCAA Division III Cross Country Championships in Spartanburg, South Carolina, on Saturday, November 22, placing 15th with a score of 415. Three athletes finished in the top hundred out of 291 athletes.

Results:

  • In their national debut, sophomore Oliver Moss placed 53rd, with a time of 24:53. They started in 130th place but moved up 77 places through the final 7k of the race.
  • Senior Ryan Podnar placed 73rd with a time of 25:02.9 in his final cross country race.
  • Following closely behind in 89th was junior Nicolo Fasanelli with a time of 25:14.2.
  • Junior Adam Kollgaard was the next Tartan to cross the line with a time of 25:39.4, in 147th place.
  • Rounding out the top five was sophomore York Bourgeois in 184th with a time of 25:54.
  • Junior Matthew Short crossed the line in 226th with a time of 26:13.2.
  • Shortly behind was junior Nathan Massie with a time of 26:15.8 in 229th.
