Tartans Run to Second Place at NCAA Regional
(NEWVILLE, Pa.) – The Carnegie Mellon University men's cross country team competed at the 2025 NCAA Division III Mid-Atlantic Regional hosted by Dickinson College at Big Springs High School on Saturday, November 15, the same course of the 2023 NCAA Division III Cross Country Championship. The course was one of the most challenging courses the team has ever competed on with over 300 feet of elevation. But the Tartans, ranked 17th, placed second against 30 other teams, just behind Johns Hopkins University who is ranked 3rd in the nation.

Results:
- Senior Ryan Podnar led the Tartans with a second-place finish out of 100 athletes in a time of 25:20.47.
- Following closely behind in third place was junior Nicolo Fasanelli with a time of 25:22.47.
- Junior Adam Kollgaard was the next Tartan to cross the line with a time of 25:42.21, in 14th place.
- Behind Kollgaard was sophomore Oliver Moss in 18th with a time of 25:44.68.
- Rounding out the top five was junior Matthew Short in 27th with a time of 26:06.75
- Sophomore York Bourgeois crossed the line 31st with a time of 26:11.23
- Junior Angelo Parrino rounded out the varsity squad with a time of 26:45.64 in 47th.
- Podnar, Fasanelli, Kollgaard, Moss, Short, and Bourgeois all earned All-Region by finishing in the top 35.

The Tartans will await their bid to the NCAA Championship which will be held next weekend, Saturday, November 22, at 11:00 a.m. in Spartansburg, South Carolina.
