#18 Tartans Race at Panther Open to Start Season
(PITTSBURGH Pa.) – The Carnegie Mellon University men's cross-country team opened its 2025 campaign at the Panther Opener at Schenley Park in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania on Friday. The Tartans placed second, scoring 58 points on the 5k course.

Results:
- Junior Matthew Short crossed first for the Tartans and sixth overall with a time of 14:52.30.
- Senior, and All-American Ryan Podnar placed eighth in the race with a time of 14:56.40 in his first race since March.
- Freshman Tanay Parikh debuted his collegiate career finishing third on the team and thirteenth overall with a time of 15:06.70.
- Sophomore Oliver Moss placed 14th with a time of 15:06.80 in his first race since the 2024 Indoor UAA championship.
- In his first race for the Tartans, freshman Stefan Langridge placed 17th with a time of 15:13.20.
- Crossing in 20th with a time of 15:23.00 was junior Adam Kollgaard in his first race since March.
- Placing 21st was junior Christian Brower with a time of 15:25.00 in his first race since October 2024.

The Tartans will break for a week before traveling to Clinton, Pennsylvania to compete in the Robert Morris Colonial Invitational on Friday, September 12 at 8:30 a.m.
