Tartans Earn Sixth Straight Automatic Bid to NCAA Championships
(INDIANAPOLIS, Ind.) – By winning its sixth straight NCAA Mid-Atlantic Regional Championship this past Saturday, the Carnegie Mellon University men's cross country team automatically qualified for the 2024 NCAA Division III Men's Cross Country Championships which will be held at LaVern Gibson Championship Cross Country Course at the Wabash Valley Family Sports Center in Terre Haute, Indiana, on Saturday, November 23. It marks the Tartans' 10th straight team appearance at the championships and 17th in the last 18 years.
Carnegie Mellon won its regional meet by placing five runners in the top 15 with all seven runners finishing in the top 25, as they all garnered Mid-Atlantic All-Region honors
Three Tartans on this year's regional championship team competed at last year's NCAA Championships where the Tartans placed sixth, which tied for the best finish in program history.
The men's race will begin at 12:00 p.m. with the women's race set to start at 11:00 a.m.
