Bio

Mike Belmonte was elevated to head men's tennis coach in November 2017 after serving as the associate head men's and women's tennis coach since 2015. Belmonte's 18-year tenure with the Carnegie Mellon tennis program began in 2008 as a part-time assistant. He became the program's first full-time tennis assistant coach in the fall of 2010.

The 2024-25 season finished with the Tartans ranked 29th in the nation after a 10-10 dual-match season with a sixth-place finish in the University Athletic Association (UAA). For the second straight season, Belmonte mentored the ITA Atlantic South Region Rookie of the Year and ITA Southeast Region Singles Champion. Freshman Alex Feies competed at the ITA Cup and the NCAA Singles Championship, earning All-America honors.
