#10 Tartans Set for Battleground Invitational

(PITTSBURGH, Pa.) - The 10th-ranked Carnegie Mellon University men's tennis team will participate in the Battleground Invitational at the University of Mary Washington on Friday, April 10 and Saturday, April 11. The Tartans are one of eight teams ranked in the top 25 competing in the eight-team invitational that will crown a champion on Saturday.

"We are excited to be included in the inaugural Battleground Invitational at the University of Mary Washington," said head coach Mike Belmonte. "Coach Helbling has fielded a top notch group of teams from around the country, and the stakes couldn't be higher. We are all in the hunt for NCAA tournament bids and are trying to measure ourselves against some of the best competition out there. It will be a great test for our team and we plan to come through it stronger and more experienced than ever."

Play begins on Friday for the Tartans at 11:30 a.m. against 17th-ranked Mary Washington.
