Feies Competes at NCAA Singles Tournament
(CLAREMONT, Calif.) - Carnegie Mellon University men's tennis freshman Alex Feies opened play at the 2025 NCAA Division III Men's Tennis Singles Championship on Friday, May 23 on the campus of Claremont-Mudd-Scripps.
Feies drew Amherst University sophomore Andreas Sillaste in the round of 64 which started Friday. After dropping the first set 6-4, Feies fell behind 4-1 in the second set. The first-year athlete battled back and was tied with Sillaste 5-5 before the elder player was able to win the final two points to take the set 7-5 and win the match.
Feies is the second player, and second straight freshman, under head coach Mike Belmonte to be selected to play in the NCAA Singles Championship.
