Bio

Andrew Mpasiakos joined the Carnegie Mellon University men's soccer staff as the full-time assistant coach in March 2026.

Mpasiakos comes to Pittsburgh after serving the past four years as the associate head coach and recruiting coordinator at Vassar College. While at Vassar, the Brewers won the Liberty League regular season and tournament titles in 2024, returned to the conference final in 2025, and reached the second round of the NCAA Tournament in both 2022 and 2024. The program collected a 41-19-17 record and accumulated 27 all-conference honors, 15 all-region honors, three All-America honors, two Liberty League Players of the Year, a Liberty League Rookie of the Year, and the staff was recognized as the Liberty League Coaching Staff of the Year in 2024.

Mpasiakos is no stranger to the University Athletic Association (UAA), as he served as an assistant coach at Case Western Reserve University for the 2020 and 2021 seasons.

Prior to 2020, Mpasiakos spent two years as a graduate assistant at Goucher College where he pursued a Master's degree in Education with a focus in Athletic Administration and Leadership, while assisting the men's soccer team with all facets related to the program including recruiting, scouting, practice planning, film analysis and goalkeeper training.

A four-year NCAA Division III student-athlete at Virginia Wesleyan University, Mpasiakos helped his team capture the 2013 Old Dominion Athletic Conference Tournament title and advance to the NCAA Division III Men's Soccer Tournament where he played Carnegie Mellon University in the first round.

The Monroe, New York, native holds a U.S. Soccer National B License, a United Soccer Coaches Premier Diploma, and a United Soccer Coaches Director of Coaching Diploma, while currently pursuing the U.S. Soccer National A-Senior License.

Outside of college coaching, Mpasiakos has held a variety of roles with youth and semi-professional organizations throughout his career. Most recently, he served the past two years as the Director of Coaching for the Town of Poughkeepsie Soccer Club. In 2024, he was on staff with the Hudson Valley Hammers USL2 team, and in 2023, he served as associate head coach of the Pathfinder FC USL2 team. He has also held coaching roles with the New York Red Bulls Academy, Cedar Stars Academy, Team Challenger FC, and Liverpool FC International Academy.
