#24 Tartans Tripped Up at Home by Salisbury

(PITTSBURGH, Pa.) – The 24th-ranked Carnegie Mellon University men's soccer team fell to Salisbury University on Saturday, September 27 by a 4-1 score for its first loss of the season. The Tartans are now 6-1-3 while the Sea Gulls move to 5-3-2.

• Salisbury started the game off strong with a goal in the seventh minute by David Brunetti.
• The Tartans took four shots before Salisbury's second goal by David Peters in minute 44th minute.
• The Tartans had a chance to cut the deficit in half three minutes into the second half but were denied on a penalty kick with a save by Nate Jones for Salisbury.
• Salisbury then added to its advantage with a goal in the 51st minute off the foot of Aaron Glikin.
• Freshman Idan Garten scored the only goal for the Tartans in the 56th minute of the game when he curled a left-footed shot in following a pass from sophomore James Ashby.
• Salisbury scored its final goal off a penalty kick after a foul on junior goalkeeper Kai Yamamoto.
• The Tartans tallied a total of 11 shots with four on goal compared to Salisbury's 14 shots with seven on goal.
