DeJardin Honored by UAA and D3hoops.com
(PITTSBURGH, Pa.) - Carnegie Mellon University men's basketball senior Buckley DeJardin was honored by D3hoops.com on the Team of the Week as well as being named University Athletic Association (UAA) Athlete of the Week. DeJardin helped the Tartans to a record of 7-1 to start the season with a pair of wins over the weekend at the UAA Challenge hosted by Bowdoin College.
The Tartans started the weekend with a 90-88 overtime victory over the host Bowdoin before topping Middlebury College 70-57. DeJardin averaged 22.0 points in the two games while shooting 75.0% (18-24) from the floor, including converting 6-of-10 (60.0%) from behind the arc. In the Tartans' win over Bowdoin, he scored 26 points on 11-of-14 shooting and made four triples. His 11 field goals made, tied a career high. DeJardin also recorded three steals and two blocks against Bowdoin. The senior then went 7-of-10 from the floor against Middlebury for 22 points while recording two additional blocks and two steals.
The Tartans will host Allegheny College on Thursday, December 18 at 4:00 p.m.
