Roper Named PAC Defensive Player of the Week Honor

(PITTSBURGH, Pa.) – Carnegie Mellon University senior linebacker Evan Roper was named Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) Defensive Player of the Week. Roper received the honor following his play in the 13th-ranked Tartans' 37-30 win over Case Western Reserve University in the 38th Academic Bowl on Saturday, November 16.

Roper headed a defense that held Case Western Reserve to 93 yards on the ground, marking it the ninth time the Tartans defense has held their opponent to under 100 yards rushing this season. Roper finished the game with a team-high 10 tackles (6 solo) and added a sack and another tackle for loss in the win.

The Tartans will host Centre College in the second round of the NCAA Tournament on Saturday, November 30 on the turf of Richard M. Lackner Field at Gesling Stadium. Kick is set for noon.
