Bouma Named PAC Offensive Player of the Week, Honored by D3football.com
(PITTSBURGH, Pa.) – Carnegie Mellon University sophomore Willem Bouma was named Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) Offensive Player of the Week and landed a spot on the D3football.com Team of the Week following his play Saturday in the Tartans' 35-14 win over Washington & Jefferson College.
Bouma led the Tartans with a career-high 149 yards rushing on 19 carries for an average of 7.8 yards per touch while adding a school-record five rushing touchdowns in victory. He scored on two one-yard runs, as well as a 55-yard touchdown scamper in the first quarter before adding touchdown runs of 4 and 70 yards in the second quarter.The sophomore also completed a 25-yard pass.
Bouma, along with senior teammate Tre Vasiliadis, both cracked the 100-yard rushing mark, marking the first time since 2011 that the Tartans had two players rush for 100 yards in a contest.
Carnegie Mellon is idle this Saturday before heading to Westminster College on Saturday, November 4. Kick is set for 1:00 p.m.
