Pitsenberger Named PAC Special Teams Player of the Week

(PITTSBURGH, Pa.) – Carnegie Mellon University junior Nolan Pitsenberger was named Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) Special Teams Athlete of the Week following his play Saturday in the Tartans' 41-7 win at Bethany College Saturday afternoon.

Pitsenberger turned in a career day, including blocking a punt which was the Tartans' nation-leading seventh of the season, in the Tartans victory. He ended the game with a career-high 11 tackles, seven solo, 2.0 tackles for a loss, along with the blocked punt. Pitsenberger played a huge factor on punt returns, as he tabbed two tackles on the punter on botched snaps, with one resulting in a turnover on downs and the other where he deflected the football that was recovered in the end zone for a Tartan score. Pitsenberger now has three blocked punts this season, ranking second nationally.

The Tartans return home on Saturday, October 21 to play Washington & Jefferson College. Kick is set for 7:00 p.m. on the turf at Gesling Stadium.
