On Saturday night, a class consisting of 12 individuals and two teams were inducted into the Athletics Hall of Fame. President Farnam Jahanian, Provost Jim Garrett, members of the University Board of Trustees, university leaders, students, staff, family and friends were all part of a packed ballroom to celebrate the honorees.

“Each time we attend a sporting event on campus we find ourselves inspired by the tenacity and spirit of our student-athletes,” President Jahanian said on Saturday night. “The Hall of Famers among us coupled with the successes of our student-athletes today, leave little room for doubt that Tartan Athletics is strong.”

The class represented nine sports, including a long-time administrator and coach, several All-Americans, multi-sport athletes and NCAA Postgraduate Scholarship honorees. In his remarks, Director of Athletics Josh Centor recognized the impact the Hall of Famers have made on the community.

“Carnegie Mellon Athletics is emerging as one of the most competitive programs in the country, and the past three years have been the most successful in our history,” Centor said. “Tonight, we celebrate the legends who paved the way for what’s possible. Hall of Famers, you have helped make this program what it is today, inspiring our current student-athletes to reach for success as you did.”

Inductees Jeanine (Megahan) Ayers and Robert O’Toole also made remarks at the induction dinner. For more information about the 2024 inductees, check out the announcement.
