Tartans Finish Fourth at Annual Carnegie Mellon Cross Country Invitational
(PITTSBURGH, Pa.) - The Carnegie Mellon University women's cross country team hosted its annual invitational on Saturday, October 10, in Schenley Park. The Tartans women's cross country team finished fourth overall in a field of 21 teams.
Leading the Tartans was Rekha Schnepf (McLean, Va./Thomas Jefferson HS for Sci. & Tech) with a 15th-place showing after crossing the line in 19:05.6. Sophomore Aparna Alavilli (Hanover, N.H.) was the second Tartan to cross the finish line and her time of 19:13.1 placed her 17th. Seniors Taylor Maggiacomo (Temecula, Calif./Great Oak) and Haley Bryant (Colorado Springs, Colo./Palmer) crossed with times of 19:27.4 and 19:32.4. Classmate Kira Ragazzo (Frederick, Md./Urbana) was the fifth Tartanto finish, as she had a time of 1(;58.7.
Rounding out the Tartans scoring were senior Erin Persson (San Antonio, Texas/Saint Mary's Hall) and sophomore Rhiannon Farney (Winston Salem, N.C./Mount Tabor) with times of 20:05.2 and 20:29.7.
The Carnegie Mellon men's cross country team will be competing at the Inter-Regional Rumble at Oberlin College next Saturday, October 17.
