Tartan Women Open Season at Duquesne Duals
(PITTSBURGH, Pa.) – The Carnegie Mellon University women's cross country team opened the running year at the Duquesne Duals in Schenley Park on Saturday, September 3. Competing in the race were teams from Duquesne and Canisus.
Junior Emily Wobb (Gibsonia, Pa./Pine Richland) finished fourth overall, crossing the finish line in 18:46. Not far behind was sophomore Elise Hall (Hillsboro, Mo./Hillsboro Senior) in sixth place. Hall finished in 19:09.
Freshman Halley Bayer (Pittsburgh, Pa./North Allegheny) was third for the Tartans to cross the finish line, as she did so in 20th place in 20:28. Sophomore Catherine Paquette (Bethel, Ohio/Archbishop McNicholas) was 23rd overall in a time of 20:43.
Also running for the Tartans was freshman Hailey Brown (Wellsville, N.Y.) who finished 26th overall and four seconds behind Paquette. Junior Eva Humphrey (Asheville, N.C.) finished in 21:26 which was good for 35th place as freshman Erin Kiekhaefer (Palo Alto, Calif.) was 36th in 21:31.
The Tartans will run again on Friday, September 16 at Slippery Rock University at Cooper's Lake Campground at 5:00 p.m.
