Tartans Topple Mt. St. Joseph in Three

(BEREA, Ohio) - The Carnegie Mellon University volleyball team defeated Mount St. Joseph University in three sets on Friday, September 5 at Baldwin Wallace University. The Tartans are now 4-1 for the season while the Lions move to 3-2.

  • The Tartans won by set scores of 25-12, 25-23, and 25-14 for their second straight sweep.
  • Junior Kate Giang recorded a double-double with 12 kills and 15 digs. It was her fourth match with double-digit kills.
  • Senior Bella Woodard hit .429 and collected eight kills.
  • Senior Katherine Jackson and freshman Sophie Pan each had seven kills.
  • Junior Neha Tummala dished out 31 assists and had three service aces.
  • Junior Zoe Gavros and Tummala each had 11 digs.
  • Pan had a career-best four block assists and one block solo to lead the team at the net.
