Herchenroether Earns UAA Weekly Honor

(ROCHESTER, N.Y.) – Senior middle blocker Kai Herchenroether of the Carnegie Mellon University volleyball team was named University Athletic Association (UAA) Athlete of the Week following her performance over the weekend, as she helped the Tartans to a 2-1 record at the Gettysburg College Battlefield Classic Invitational.

Herchenroether hit .404 with 23 kills and 17 total blocks. She started the season with a career-high 13 kills and hit .542 in the Tartans 3-1 win over the host Bullets and added four block assists and one block solo. In the Tartans 3-1 over Messiah, Herchenroether recorded a career-high eight block assists and added three kills. The eight block assists was the most by a Tartan since Jane Dean recorded eight against Brandeis on September 18, 2021. She closed the weekend with seven kills and four block assists in a 3-2 setback to Otterbein.

The Tartans will host the Bearcats of Saint Vincent College on Wednesday, September 3 at 6:00 p.m.
