Reichard and Tummala Honored as All-Americans

(LEXINGTON, Ky.) – Graduate student outside hitter Laura Reichard and sophomore setter Neha Tummala garnered national accolades from the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) with their respective All-America Honorable Mention selections for 2024. Both receive the honor for the first time as Reichard is a repeat selection to the all-region team.

Reichard tallied a team-best 367 kills for the season and 3.11 kills per set. She ranked second on the team with 456 digs. She had a career-best 23 kills against Washington and Lee University and reached double-digit kills in 21 games for the season while she accumulated 24 games with double-digit digs. For her career, Reichard has recorded 1,117 kills and 1,767 digs to rank 12th and sixth respectively, in program history. Reichard also tallied 140 service aces to finish her career 17th on the all-time Tartan list.

Tummala led the Tartans with 1,242 assists and 10.53 assists per set. The sophomore recorded a career-best 60 assists against Case Western Reserve and handed out 50 or more assists in five contests this season. Tummala also led the team with 59 service aces and was third on the Tartans with 368 digs. She led the UAA in service aces at the season's completion and finished second in assists.

This marks the first time two Tartans were selected to the AVCA All-America team since 2019 when three players were honored. It is also the fifth time more than one Tartan has made the postseason award list.

Junior Julianna McFarland was named to the AVCA All-Region 7 team as an honorable mention awardee.
