Tummala Earns Second UAA Weekly Honor

(ROCHESTER, N.Y.) – For the second time this season, sophomore setter Neha Tummala of the Carnegie Mellon University volleyball team was named University Athletic Association (UAA) Athlete of the Week. The sophomore garners the accolade following her performance in helping the Tartans to three wins at the first UAA Round Robin.

Tummala totaled 137 assists, 55 digs, 10 aces and five total blocks while recording three double-doubles. She started the round robin with 46 assists, 15 digs and four aces in the Tartans 3-2 win over 13th-ranked NYU. She then recorded 41 assists, 16 digs and three aces in the Tartans' 3-1 win over Chicago and then closed the round robin with 26 assists, nine digs and an ace in the Tartans' 3-0 victory over Brandeis. The sophomore started the week with 24 assists and 15 digs in the Tartans setback to #1 Juniata.

The Tartans will travel to Allegheny College on Friday, October 4 at 8:00 p.m.
