Tummala Earns UAA Weekly Honor

(ROCHESTER, N.Y.) – Sophomore setter Neha Tummala of the Carnegie Mellon University volleyball team was named University Athletic Association (UAA) Athlete of the Week following her performance over the weekend. Tummala helped the Tartans to a 2-1 mark at the Randolph-Macon Invitational.

Tummala tied three career-highs. Her first came when she recorded five service aces in the Tartans 3-1 win over Salisbury where she handed out 40 assists and tabbed 17 digs. The sophomore then tied career-highs with 54 assists and 32 digs in the Tartans 3-2 setback to Washington & Lee. Tummala closed the weekend with 26 assists and three aces in the Tartans' 3-0 win over the host. For the weekend, Tummala totaled 120 assists, 57 digs and eight aces.

On Friday, September 20, the Tartans will face Susquehanna University in the Highmark Center. Competition will begin at 7:00 p.m.
