Patel Wins 3,000m at Susquehanna while Healy and Devpura Set Records at Boston

(SUSQUEHANNA, Pa.) - The Carnegie Mellon University women's track and field team had competitors at the Boston University David Henry Valentine Invite and at the Susquehanna Valentine Invite on Saturday, February 14.

Top Track Performances

  • At Boston, senior Margaret Ann Healy ran the mile in 4:53.07 to surpass her school record set earlier this season while junior Elise Kempf finished the race in a career-best 5:03.51, which is fourth best in program history.
  • Two athletes ran the 5,000-meter run at Boston. Junior Ananya Devpura finished in a school record time of 17:08.31 while junior Maya Ducker finished in 17:16.85. The previous school record of 17:20.90 (HT) was set in 1992 by CMU Athletics Hall of Famer Carolyn Lowe.
  • Senior Jackie Liu ran the 800-meter run to a time of 2:16.71.
  • At Susquehanna, junior Alaina Patel won the 3,000-meter run in a career-best time of 10:47.72 with freshman Alexis Ohler placing third in 10:49.47.
  • Three Tartans made the finals of the 60-meter hurdles with senior Iniyaa Mohanraj placing fifth in 9.64 seconds, freshman Sophia Riche placing sixth in 9.74 seconds and sophomore Alin Aydogan placing seventh in 9.82 seconds.

Top Field Performances

  • Mohanraj won the long jump with a career-best mark of 5.51 meters that is tied for second on the all-time Tartan list, while senior Zoe King was second with a mark of 5.45 meters.
  • Mohanraj also placed second in the triple jump with a mark of 10.94 meters while senior Alexa Lowe was third with a career-best mark of 10.89 meters.
  • Junior Hazel Buonopane placed second in the pole vault by clearing 3.25 meters. Sophomore Ava Barnes was third after clearing 3.25 as well but on her second attempt.
  • Freshman Isabelle Garlick and sophomore Catalina Howells each cleared 1.53 meters in the high jump with Garlick placing fourth and Howells fifth.
  • Junior Sara Christie finished eighth in the shot put with a distance of 10.65 meters.
