Liu Records Two Victories at Mount Union; Tartans Claim Three Total Wins
(PITTSBURGH, Pa.) – The Carnegie Mellon University women's track and field team competed at two different meets over the weekend. One athlete traveled to Bucknell University for the Bison Open while the rest of the team competed at the University of Mount Union at the Wuske Invite.
Top Performances at Bucknell
- Freshman Alin Aydogan competed in the pentathlon, placing fifth out of 17 athletes with 2,901 points.
- Aydogan was fourth in the high jump, clearing 1.46 meters. She placed fifth in the shot put, with a mark of 8.95 meters. Her distance of 4.86 meters in the long jump was fifth while her 60-meter hurdle time of 9.47 was fourth and her 800-meter run time of 2:44.30 was eighth.
Top Performances at Mount Union
- Junior Jackie Liu won the 800-meter run with a time of 2:22.18.
- Sophomore Kara Mathias took first place in the 3,000-meter race with a time of 11:16.63 while Cora Marcet placed third in 11:24.10 and Norah Czajka placed sixth with a time of 11:38.12.
- Liu, junior Zoe King along with freshmen Emma Horsley and Estee Teo won the 4x400-meter relay, as they crossed first of three teams with a time of 4:20.62.
- Graduate student Caitlin Guilfoyle placed second in the mile run with a time of 5:16.78 with sophomore Ananya Devpura crosssing sixth in 5:27.71.
- The 60-meter hurdles final saw junior Iniyaa Mohanraj cross with a career-best time of 9.79 to place sixth. Mohanraj also recorded a seventh-place finish in the triple jump with a leap of 10.35 meters.
- Freshman Ava Barnes placed third in the pole vault after clearing 3.49 meters.
- Senior Jocelyn Kiefel took fifth place in the triple jump with a mark of 10.54 meters.
- King recorded a jump of 4.97 meters to place seventh in the long jump.
- Senior Katie Monahan placed seventh with a mark of 12.73 meters in the weight throw.

The Tartans will compete at the David Hemery Valentine Invite at Boston University and the D3 Elite Meet at Nazareth University on Friday and Saturday, February 14-15.
