Career-Bests Reached at Spire Midwest Open for Tartan Women

(GENEVA, Ohio) – The Carnegie Mellon University women's track and field team competed in the Spire Midwest Open at the Spire Institute on Saturday, January 25.

Top Performances

  • Senior Lauryn McKenna finished ninth in the 5,000-meter run with a time of 19:08.49.
  • Junior Jackie Liu placed fifth with a time of 2:20.19 in the 800-meter run.
  • Freshman Ava Barnes took third place in the intermediate pole vault with a career-best mark of 3.30 meters while Kate Stamper placed seventh with a mark of 3.00 meters.
  • Sophomore Hazel Buonopane tied for seventh place in the elite pole vault event with a mark of 3.30 meters.
  • Sophomore Ananya Devpura placed sixth in the 3,000-meter run in a career-best 10:11.16 with sophomore Maya Ducker placing seventh in a career-best 10:15.40.
  • Junior Iniyaa Mohanraj was fifth in the triple jump with a leap of 10.78 meters.
  • Senior Katie Monahan finished eighth in the shot put with a mark of 11.68 meters.
  • Freshman Alin Aydogan got a career-best in the long jump with a mark of 5.07 meters to place 11th.
