Aldrich Receives Mideast Regional Award

(NEW ORLEANS, La.) – Associate Head Coach Gary Aldrich of the Carnegie Mellon University men's and women's outdoor track and field teams was honored by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association with outstanding regional recognition. The sixth-year coach was named Mideast Assistant Coach of the Year for the women.  

At the University Athletic Association Championships, Aldrich saw his athletes score 46.5 of the team's 62 points. Aldrich coached sophomore Jacqueline Guevel (Dallas, Texas/The Hockaday School) in the 100-meter hurdles and the 400-meter hurdles where she ranked seventh and 10th, respectively at the end of the regular season.

This marks Aldrich's second straight season receiving this award for the outdoor season. He was also honored during the 2012 indoor season with the same recognition for both the men's and women's teams.
