(ALTAMONTE SPRINGS, Fla.) - The sixth-ranked Carnegie Mellon University women's tennis team played eighth-ranked Emory University in the third-place match of the University Athletic Association (UAA) Championship on Sunday morning at Sanlando Park in Altamonte Springs, Florida. The Tartans dropped a 4-0 decision and moved to 16-7 overall while the Eagles are now 13-6.

Inside the Results

  • The Eagles earned the doubles point winning at second and third. The Tartans top tandem of freshman Ika Kanumuri and sophomore Kotistha Modak won their match 6-4.
  • Emory won at five, six and three singles to secure the victory.
  • When play was stopped, Kanumuri was ahead 6-4, 5-4 at first singles.
  • Modak was also leading 6-0, 3-2 at four singles.
