Gazda Honored by UAA

(ROCHESTER, N.Y.) – Carnegie Mellon University freshman Victoria Gazda was named University Athletic Association (UAA) Women's Tennis Athletes of the Week for her performance over the weekend at the Carnegie Mellon Invitational.

Gazda turned in a perfect weekend with a record of 3-0 collecting two wins in singles and collecting another in doubles play. She started singles play with a straight set over Jasa Roka of Duquesne University winning 6-2, 6-3. She then defeated Katalina Wang of Case Western Reserve University 5-7, 6-4, 1-0 (10-1Hher double victory came against the tandem of Sara Fernandez and Ellior Rose of Case Western Reserve.

The Tartans will compete in the Kenyon College Invitational on September 13-15.
