All-America Finishes Lead Tartans on Day 1 of NCAA Championships
(INDIANAPOLIS, Ind.) – The Carnegie Mellon University women's swimming and diving team began competition at the 2026 NCAA Division III Swimming & Diving Championships on Wednesday, March 18. The meet is being held at the IU Natatorium on the campus of Indiana University in Indianapolis, Indiana. After day one, the Tartans are in 15th place out of 25 teams with 17 points.

Senior Savannah Xu placed eighth in the 200-yard IM with a time of 2:05.13.

The team of Xu, freshman Victoria Sun, freshman Audrey Gil, and junior Anna Zaniolo swam the 400-medley relay in 3:47.33, placing 14th overall.

The Tartans will continue competition at the NCAA Championships tomorrow, Thursday March 19. Competition will begin at 10 a.m. with preliminaries in the 100-yard butterfly and the 200-yard freestyle relay.
