Tartans Compete in Six Events at Day 2 of UAA Championships
(ATLANTA, Ga.) – The Carnegie Mellon University women's swimming and diving team competed in the second day of the University Athletic Association (UAA) Championships on Thursday, February 13 at Emory University. The swimmers competed in six finals events and the divers competed in the 3-meter prelims. After two days, the Tartans have a total of 298 points and are in sixth place out of eight teams.
Top Performances
- The 200-yard freestyle relay team of junior Audrey Lambert, freshman Lizzy Rosenberg, sophomore Anna Zaniolo, and junior Grace Malinger placed sixth in the with a time of 1:36.08.
- Junior Savannah Xu finished fourth in the 200-yard IM with a time of 2:05:42. Junior Audrey Soetanto finished in 2:07.29, earning 14th place.
- Malinger swam the 50-yard freestyle in 24:04, placing fourteenth.
- Junior Sophie Elliott swam the 500-yard freestyle and placed 20th in 5:04.57.
- The 400-yard medley relay team of Xu, sophomore Elizabeth Shaffer, Soetanto, and Malinger placed sixth with a time of 3:50.75.
- Sophomore Cat Bryan was the Tartans' top finishing diver, placing 15th in the 3-meter prelims with a score of 382.35.
