Chintala Honored as UAA Athlete of the Week

(ROCHESTER, N.Y.) - Carnegie Mellon University senior Anisha Chintala has been named the University Athletic Association (UAA) Women's Basketball Athlete of the Week for leading the Tartans to a 2-0 week and a 4-0 start to the season.

Chintala led the Tartans to two home victories with a tight 80-77 against Washington & Jefferson College and a 30-point win against Muskingum by averaging 20.5 points, 2.5 rebounds, 1.0 assists, 2.5 steals and 1.5 blocks while shooting 70% from the field. In the win against W&J, Chintala scored 19 points while hitting 2-of-3 from behind the arc. In less than 20 minutes of action against Muskingum, Chintala scored 22 points on 8-of-9 shooting from the floor with two rebounds, two steals, and two blocks.

The Tartans return to the court with a home contest against Oberlin College on Wednesday, November 20 at 5:30 p.m.
