Freimanis Named UAA Running Athlete of the Week

(PITTSBURGH, Pa.) – Sophomore Luke Freimanis of the Carnegie Mellon University men's outdoor track and field team was named University Athletic Association (UAA) Athlete of the Week for running events following his performance at the Dave Labor Invitational hosted by Slippery Rock University on Friday and Saturday among a field that was comprised of Division I, II and III institutions.

For the second consecutive meet, Freimanis broke his own school record in the 110-meter hurdles when he crossed with a time of 14.41 seconds and placed sixth in a field of 39 runners. His time in the 110-meter hurdles is currently tops in the UAA and ranks ninth nationally.

The Tartans will split into three meets, Susquehanna Multi Meet April 9-10, the Westminster Invite April 10-11, and the Bucknell Invitational April 11-12.
