Tartans Traveled to Virginia to Compete at NCAA South Regional Final Qualifier
(WINCHESTER, Va.) – Members of the Carnegie Mellon University men's track and field team competed in the NCAA South Regional Final Qualifier meet at Shenandoah University on Friday and Saturday.
Top Performances
- Junior Matthew Yu won the 60-meter dash with a time of 7.01 seconds.
- Senior Casey Potrebic competed in the heptathlon and placed fifth with 3,957 points. He won the 1000-meter run with a time of 2:55.14. Potebic also won the long jump with a mark of 6.08 meters. He was second in the 60-meter dash with a time of 7.41 seconds and third in high jump with a career-best mark of 1.77 meters. He came in fourth in 60-meter hurdles with a time of 9.34 seconds. He earned a mark of 12.27 meters in shot put, placing second.
- Junior Christian Duckworth won pole vault clearing the bar at 4.80 meters. Sophomore Lucas Knappenberger took second with a height of 4.65 meters.
- Senior Johnathan Crawshaw competed in the shot put and tossed the element 14.75 meters.
