Tartans Finish Sixth at Dave Labor Invite

(SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa.) – The Carnegie Mellon University men's track and field team participated in the Dave Labor Invitational at Slippery Rock University on Friday and Saturday. The Tartans placed sixth out of 25 teams with a total of 37 points.

Top Performances on the Track

  • Sophomore Nathan Massie finished third out of 94 athletes in the 1500-meter run with a time of 4:04.08.5.
  • In the 800-meter run, sophomore Matthew Short's personal-best time of 1:55.34 put him in sixth place out of 99 athletes.
  • Senior Micah Nowlin completed the 110-meter hurdles in a time of 16.03, finishing seventh place.
  • In 400-meter hurdles, sophomore Philip Ma led the Tartans, finishing with a time of 57.57 in fifth place. Freshman James Brewer followed in seventh place with a time of 58.54.

Top Performances in the Field

  • A mark of 7.02 meters earned junior Morgan Johnson second place out of 46 athletes in long jump.
  • Senior Sebastian Sanso placed fourth in triple jump with a mark of 13.76 meters and sophomore Atai Tahasan placed seventh with a mark of 13.11 meters.
  • Sophomore Solomon Galvach and freshman Lucas Knappenberger tied for sixth place in pole vault, each with a mark of 4.50 meters.
