Potrebic Named UAA Field Athlete of the Week

(ROCHESTER, N.Y.) – Senior Casey Potrebic of the Carnegie Mellon University men's indoor track and field team was named University Athletic Association (UAA) Athlete of the Week for field events following his performance at the South Region Final Qualifier held by Shenandoah University over the weekend in the heptathlon.

Potrebic scored 4,846 points and placed first while his total points ranked him 19th nationally and qualified him for the NCAA Indoor Championships. During the event, the senior set personal-best times in the 60-meter dash, 60-meter hurdles and 1,000-meter run, as well as total points in the heptathlon. He crossed the finish line in 7.20 seconds in the 60-meter dash, 9.14 seconds in the 60-meter hurdles and 2:48.70 in the 1,000-meter run. His 4,846 points scored ranks third all-time in program history.

Potrebic along with senior Matthew Coyle and freshman Luke Freimanis will compete at the NCAA Indoor Track and Field Championships starting Friday, March 14.
