Tartans Begin NCAA Championships with All-America Finishes
(INDIANAPOLIS, Ind.) – The Carnegie Mellon University men's swimming and diving team began competition at the 2026 NCAA Division III Swimming & Diving Championships on Wednesday, March 18. The meet is being held at the IU Natatorium on the campus of Indiana University in Indianapolis, Indiana. After day one, the Tartans are in 11th place out of 37 teams with 24 points.

Junior Brayden Morford placed fifth in the 200-yard IM with a time of 1:46.20.

The team of senior Arnav Deshpande, senior Max Kulbida, Morford, and sophomore Todd Dong swam the 400-yard medley relay in a time of 3:15.06, placing 12th overall.

The Tartans will continue competition at the NCAA Championships tomorrow, Thursday March 19. Competition will begin at 10 a.m. with preliminaries in the 200-yard freestyle, 100-yard butterfly, 400-yard IM and the 200-yard freestyle relay.
