Tartans Win Five of Seven Events at Kenyon Invitational
(GAMBIER, Ohio) - The Carnegie Mellon University men's swimming team competed at the Kenyon College Total Performance Invitational on Friday, November 21. The Tartans won five events on the night.
Top Performances
- The 200-yard medley relay of senior Arnav Deshpande, sophomore Daniel Baytin, junior Brayden Morford, and sophomore Matthew Peitler touched first in a meet record time of 1:26.72.
- Freshman Tenmy Wangpo won the 400-yard IM in B Cut qualifying time of 3:54.83. Senior David Zoota was 10th in 4:06.86 after a prelinaries swim of 4:05.08.
- Morford won the 100-yard butterfly in B Cut qualifying time of 46.90. Freshman Giulio Migliarina was sixth in 49.49.
- Junior Aaron Lee won the 100-yard breaststroke in B Cut qualifying time of 54.40. Senior Max Kulbida was third in B Cut qualifying time of 54.73. Baytin took seventh in 55.57 and junior Andy Lu was ninth in 55.72.
- Deshpande was second in the 100-yard backstroke in B Cut qualifying time of 48.32 with junior Ljubomir Popovic placing sixth in 50.72 and sophomore Raaghav Reddy placing seventh in 50.87. Freshman Max Gu touched ninth in 51.19.
- The 800-yard freestyle relay of Peitler, Luebke, junior Cole Venters, and Morford also placed first in a school-record time of 6:32.70, topping the previous mark of 6:36.17 set in 2024 at the NCAA meet.
- Freshman Alex Luebke was fifth in the 200-yard freestyle in 1:40.06.
