Wangpo Named UAA Men's Swimmer of the Week

(PITTSBURGH, Pa.) - Carnegie Mellon University freshman Tenmy Wangpo was named the University Athletic Association (UAA) Men's Swimmer of the Week.

Wangpo started his CMU dual meet career with two victories and a pool record, as he helped the Tartans top Washington & Lee University on the road by leading a sweep of the 200-yard butterfly and 200-yard backstroke. Wangpo's time of 1:49.96 in the butterfly was a W&L pool record and .32 seconds off the NCAA qualifying time. He later won the 200-yard backstroke in 1:53.68.

The team returns to action on Saturday, November 1 at Case Western Reserve University.
